Leap Week is a comprehensive 1-week speech-language intervention program to facilitate 

speech-language-communication skills of young children with a language-based learning disability.

Increase understanding and use of vocabulary and language concept

Improve understanding and use of syntactic skills for verbal expression

Facilitate language –based critical thinking and problem solving 

Increase awareness of communication for peer interactions

Social Express

Early Social Learners in PreK4-1st grade

The Social Express departs Monday – Thursday

Session A: July 10-20, 2023   Session B:  August 7-17, 2023

Boarding time:          9:15 a.m.

Time of Arrival:        12:15 p.m.

All aboard!  The Social Express will take our early social learners on a fun filled journey to the Social Thinking® Station.  Through music, stories and dramatic play activities.Passengers on board the Social Express will learn the fundamental concepts of Social Thinking ®.  

  • Develop awareness of social thinking concepts.
  • Expand play schemas and interests.
  • Increase social communication skills.
Social Team Builders

Social Learners in Grades 2-4

Session A: July 10-20, 2023   Session B:  August 7-17, 2023

Social Team Builders a dynamic program designed for children in elementary school, this cutting-edge program will address the complex issues of social cognition, executive function, self-regulation and behavior common to many children with social learning challenges.

  • Learn about the concept of “flexible thinking” and its role in establishing and maintaining peer relationships and working together in groups
  • Develop strategies for building social problem solving and emotional regulation
  • Begin to build an understanding of “hidden rules” of social behavior and communication
Social Learning Film Festival

Film Critics in Grades 5-8

Session A:  July 10-20, 2023          Session B:   August 7-17, 2023

Monday – Thursday 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

Participants will explore social thinking concepts based largely on the work of Michelle Garcia Winner through the magic of movies and videos.

  • Identify contextual and fundamental “thinking with your eyes” information
  • Discern feeling states and expand emotional vocabulary
  • Understand and track multiple perspectives
  • Interpret tone, indirectness, facial, nonverbal, and gestural information
  • Experience empathy with characters
Social Planners

Social Learners in Grades 9-12

Monday – Thursday 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Session A:  July 10-20, 2023   Session B:  August 7-17, 2023

Social Planners a dynamic program that is designed for socially curious High School students. This cutting-edge program will address the complex issues related to social cognition, executive function, self-regulation and behavior common to many teens with social learning challenges by building a sturdier foundation for understanding social expectations, making social decisions and fostering social independence.  

  • Increase understanding of the concept of “flexible thinking” and its role in establishing and maintaining peer relationships and working together in groups.
  • Increase awareness of how they are perceived by others and learn how to demonstrate interest in others.
  • Develop executive function skills required to make plans to hang out with others.
EF Boot Camp- Summer

Trainees 18+

Monday – Thursday 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.  

Session A:  July 10-20, 2023   Session B:  August 7-17, 2023

EF Boot Camp an intense program designed to address executive function skills. Executive function skills is a term used to describe difficulties associated with goal setting, carrying out organized steps and modifying a plan to complete a task successfully and understanding time and time management.

  • Improve Nonverbal Working Memory as the foundation for all other skills
  • Manage multiple activities including homework, projects and extracurricular activities while still finding “down time” through planning and organization strategies
  • Develop a “memory for the future” by learning strategies to set and achieve goals
  • Learn how to sense the passage of time and identify “time robbers” so to appropriately allocate time and improve time management skills

Social Prep a beginners program developed to jump start social learning and prepare one for inclusion in one of our social thinking groups.  

Develop and increase social awareness and functional listening behaviors

√Learn how to make smart guesses and become better social thinkers

EF Prep- Summer

Each session is scheduled for one hour

EF Boot Camp will focus on developing strategies for improving attention, memory, impulse control, organization, planning, time management and metacognitive problem solving skills that relate to activities of daily living and academic success. Sessions will be designed specifically for each individual’s needs.
